I have found that group work in an online class can be very challenging. Tonja was the first to create our group so she was the leader. She contacted us by e mail and told us everything was set up for us to log in and join the group. Once I accepted her invitation I had to wait until she logged back in and opened the group. After joining the group Tonja and I posted a question for everyone to answer. There were supposed to be three questions posted so since we have three people in our group I assumed that each person would post one question each. It’s hard to get everyone to understand and do what is required when you are communicating through e mail only. Tonja did all the communicating in this class as far as getting everyone started and all and I am very thankful she took the initiative.
I think I have completed everything in the assignment other than this reflection. I am eager to see everyone’s web page that has the educational websites and explanations. It’s nice to get ideas from other people and use them when planning lessons and activities for the students. After all two heads are better than one. I hope that everyone can use my web sites that I posted.
I have never used g mail before and never knew there was such a thing as a Google group. I think this could be helpful with my classes in the future. The only problems with this assignment were getting in touch with everyone. Tonja and I communicate on a daily basis but our other group member we have never met. Tonja has been in contact with her after days of trying. I think we did fairly well on this assignment.
